Information we collect

Information you give us

When you use a form on this site, we collect what you enter:

• Conversation guide request: your name and email address.
• Consultation request: your name, email address, the topic you choose, and any details you add.
• Planning worksheet request: your name, email address, what you are exploring, your estimated timeline, and any questions you add.

Please do not submit Social Security numbers, account numbers, or financial documents through this website.

Information collected automatically

• Security check: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated spam. It processes technical information such as your IP address and browser characteristics to tell people from bots.
• Server logs: our hosting provider records standard request information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to deliver and secure the site.
• Preferences stored on your device: the site saves your light/dark theme choice and whether you have read the site disclaimer in your browser's local storage. If you choose a language from the translate menu, a googtrans cookie remembers it.

The mortgage calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us. If you use the “Share” or “Copy link” buttons, the scenario values are placed in the link itself.

This site does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

How we use information

• To send you the guide or worksheet you asked for.
• To protect the site and our inbox from spam and abuse.
• To operate, maintain, and secure the website.
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run this site, and only for that purpose:

• Website hosting (Vercel) — serves the site and processes form requests.
• Form processing and email (n8n) — delivers your submission to our inbox and sends you a confirmation email.
• Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) — verifies that forms are submitted by people.
• Translation (Google) — only if you choose a language from the translate menu; page text is then processed by Google Translate.

We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

If you apply for a loan

This policy covers this website only. If you go on to apply for a mortgage, the information you provide in that process is governed by the lender's privacy notice under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which you will receive at that time.

How long we keep information

We keep form submissions for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain records required by law, and then delete them.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:

• know what personal information we have collected about you;
• ask us to correct or delete it;
• opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share it);
• not be treated differently for exercising these rights.

To make a request, email info@danthetruong.org with the subject “Privacy request.” We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

Do Not Track

This site does not track you across other websites, so it treats all visitors the same whether or not their browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Security

Forms are submitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. See also our Disclosures and Accessibility Statement.
